4A molecular sieve mainly adsorbs water, methanol, ethanol, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, ethylene, and propylene. It does not adsorb any molecules with a diameter larger than 4A (including propane). Its selective adsorption performance for water is higher than any other molecules. It is one of the most widely used molecular sieves in industry.
Chemical formula: Na2O·Al2O3·2SiO2·9/2H2O
Silicon-aluminum ratio: SiO2/Al2O3≈2
Effective pore size: about 4A (0.4nm)

Diameter(mesh): 8*12 ; 4*8
Static adsorbed water(≥ %wt): 21; 21
Adsorption of methanol(≥ mg/g):140; 140
Bulk density(≥ g/ml): 0.66; 0.66
Abrasion ratio(≤ %wt): 0.1; 0.1
Residual moisture content(≤ %wt): 1.5; 1.5
Applications
Mainly used for drying natural gas and various chemical gases and liquids, refrigerants, pharmaceuticals, electronic materials and volatile substances, argon gas purification, and separation of methane, ethane and propane.
1. Deep drying of gases and liquids such as air, natural gas, alkanes, and refrigerants
2. Preparation and purification of argon gas
3. Static drying of pharmaceutical packaging, electronic components and perishable substances
4. As a dehydrating agent in paints, fuels and coatings
Like the 3A sieve, the 4A type can also be reused and regenerated. First, you will want to remove the absorbed moisture and other materials, and then heat it to 250 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Then store the sieve in an airtight container until ready to use again to avoid any unintentional moisture absorption.
